Goat Peter's Farm
This is the official clock of the year for 2009 as certified by the Association of Black Forest (VdS). This clock attempts to depict a typical Black Forest Farm and show every detail, occupation and tradition that it represents. A farmer with his scythe standing next to his hay cart. In front of the small chapel is a shingle rack where the roof shingles are cut. The width of the clock enables the design to show the out buildings so commonly found with a traditional farmhouse.
The clock derives its name from the small boy figurine who is carrying a baby goat. Other farm yard animals are a German shepherd and a cat. The roof is traditional hand laid shingle tiles with a Bell tower and dormer style windows. The hand painted figurines turn as the music plays.
The case is finished in an antique walnut finish. 8 day rack-strike movement with a cuckoo call on the half and full hour. The high quality Swiss (Reuge) music plays a twin melody that alternates between Edelweiss and the Happy wanderer. A premium model with a 5 year warranty, long life components, Nickel plated chime spring, antique style chains and wooden knob for the manual night shut-off.
